Here's a selection of radio stories I've produced with CBC NL.

Hala and Shirley make fish and brewis

Shirley lives in Torbay, NL. Hala is a Ukrainian refugee, and she lives in Shirley's house with her daughter and grandchildren. The two grandmothers have become the best of friends, and they've also learned how to cook together. Just before Christmas, I dropped in on them as they made a Newfoundland delicacy, fish and brewis. This radio piece aired on Caroline Hillier and Krissy Holmes' national radio special for CBC, "Finding Home." That special won bronze at the New York Festival Radio Awards for "Best Talk/Interview Special." My radio segment also aired on CBC's Helluva Story.

Kids Petitioning for Queer History (mix)

13 year old Eleanor Murray loves history. She also came out as a lesbian last year. But when she began looking for LGBTQ+ history for kids, she couldn't find very much. So, Eleanor started a petition to add queer history to the province's school curriculum. And together with her sister and friends, she started knocking door-to-door in St John's to ask for signatures—even though she's encountered homophobia at those doors, and still feels afraid. (This St. John's Morning Show mix is very near and dear to me. I believe it also had a run on syndication.)
